A+ Tutoring is seeking a compassionate and experienced Online Tutor with Special Education experience to join our team. We specialize in providing one-on-one, personalized tutoring for students with diverse learning needs. As an A+ Tutoring educator, you'll enjoy flexible scheduling, the ability to choose the students you work with, and the convenience of working remotely from home.
Tutors typically work between 4-10 hours per week, making this role ideal for educators looking for part-time flexibility while making a significant impact in students' academic journeys.
Responsibilities:
Provide engaging one-on-one online tutoring to K-12 students with varying learning needs.
Design and implement customized lesson plans that accommodate individual learning disabilities, behavioral needs, or IEP goals.
Assess students' strengths and areas for growth to guide instruction.
Maintain regular communication with parents, caregivers, and teachers to track student progress.
Provide detailed lesson notes after each session.
Support students in core subjects such as English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, based on individual needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
Valid teaching credential or certification in Special Education preferred.
At least 2 years of experience working with special education students in a classroom or online setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
Comfortable with technology and able to use online platforms for virtual tutoring sessions.
Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping students succeed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Common Core State Standards and/or California State Standards.
Familiarity with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and 504 Plans.
Experience working with charter school students or homeschool families is a plus.
